Myhre Group Architects was responsible for the design of this mixed-use building, which fills in an existing surface parking lot in the Alphabet District of Northwest Portland. The design intent was to create an attractive building that responds to the history and enhances the public street character of this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. The building mass is broken up by two different yet related massing designs: a more traditional, yet contemporary aesthetic facing 19th Avenue and a more modern aesthetic facing Johnson Street. The exterior is clad brick with accents of a wood composite panel. The underside of the balconies and the roof overhang will be a stained tongue and groove cedar. Containing a total of 44,000 square feet, the total estimated construction cost is $6.6 million.
